Jerry Evans is an artist of Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry born in Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). In 1986, he graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He completed a degree in Education at Memorial University and has been a practicing artist for over 30 years. He has exhibited across Canada and internationally, and his work is included in private and public collections. He received an honorary degree from Memorial University in 2024. The work of Jerry Evans is rooted in Indigenous concepts of time, storytelling, and beauty.
